Dear colleagues
I have recently published an English-Persian Pharmaceutical dictionary. After reviewing all Pharmaceutical dictionaries in English I found out that none of them are up-to-date or comprehensive and very inadequate to satisfy the needs of students of pharmaceutical sciences. So I have decided to write an English-English pharmaceutical dictionary in English based on my Persian-English dictionary.

English-Persian Pharmaceutical Dictionary, Dr. Mohammad Reza Tavakoli
Saberi
, Maziar Publication, paperback, 546 pages, ISSN:
978-964-5676-91-7, Price: ($25, including S&H).

The recently published English-Persian Pharmaceutical Dictionary by Dr. Saberi is the first pharmaceutical dictionary of its kind. This volume is compiled specifically for pharmacists in research and retail positions and contains more than 15,000 English words with Persian equivalents and descriptions. The multidisciplinary aspect of this dictionary makes it useful for other health workers, such as medical and nursing practitioners as well as paramedical staff. It contains terms and expressions in the wide area of pharmaceutical sciences such as pharmaceutics, traditional medicine, medicinal chemistry, parasitology, pharmacology, physiology, and biochemistry. The author has also included many English slang words that addicts use in regards to drug abuse and has found appropriate Persian equivalents for them.
The biography of great Persian and Arab pharmacists and doctors offers valuable information handy for the readers. The inclusion of Latin and Greek prefixes and suffixes help the readers to learn and memorize medical terminology with ease and speed. Two alphabetized tables of abbreviations and acronyms at the end of the book are valuable tools for quick research. Overall it is an excellent handbook which should be on the desktop or laboratory bench of anybody who works in the area of pharmaceutical sciences.
